How We Manage Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Update
Dear valued clients and project partners of Nu-Vision Projects,
At Nu-Vision Projects, it is people that are our most important asset and their health and safety our greatest responsibility. We are committed to providing safe and healthy working environments for our employees, subcontractors, stakeholders and the general public during all works undertaken.
As Australians respond to the challenges of COVID-19, Nu-Vision Projects would like to reassure you that we have adopted a dynamic business continuity plan and we are still fully operational and absolutely committed to supporting you and your project needs during this difficult time.
Our business continuity plan particularly focuses on;
- Prioritising employee health and welfare including the enforcement of high standards of hygiene;
- Supporting both office and site staff as everyone navigates new ways of living and working and the consequent toll on their physical and mental health;
- Assessing the risks and potential impact of COVID-19 on current and planned projects, including reviewing their related contracts; and
- Keeping commercial and trading partners up to date – particularly if it looks like significant action is needed.
Currently, there is no shutdown of the building and construction industry that has been announced following the meetings of the National Cabinet on Covid-19 (which comprise of the PM, State Premiers and Territory Chief Ministers).
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he considers “essential workers” to be “someone who has a job” in the country.
“Everyone who has a job in this economy is an essential worker. Every single job that is being done in our economy with these severe restrictions that are taking place is essential,”
As such, and in keeping with restrictions and other Australian Government guidelines, our onsite activities continue as normal.
However, safety on site remains paramount and for offices and sites that remain open, the following will be of particular focus;
- Evaluate site-specific risks: Coronavirus adds a different dimension to the normal safety requirements on site. We will ensure implementation of the latest recommendations from government and health authorities. Every site will be different. This will be done via evaluating the specific risks raised by COVID-19 on our projects and collaborating with our site teams, clients and suppliers to find ways to keep the project running.
- Monitor work in progress: We will ensure that there are enough workers to carry out the work safely and in accordance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
- Implement hygiene protocols: We will ensure there good washing facilities available including soap, tissues and clean towels. Facilities will be cleaned on a regular basis. Monitoring will be tightened for all those entering the site and ensuring they understand the need for good hygiene and to self-isolate in accordance with the latest government and health authority guidelines.
- Coronavirus-free declarations: We will ask site workers and visitors to declare before entering the site that they are not at risk of COVID-19 (currently that means free of cough and temperature etc) whist still respecting privacy rights.
- Restrict movement between sites and between sites and the office: We will ask site workers to report into the office by telephone, Skype or similar rather than a physical visit, where possible and vice versa. If site workers do need to access facilities in the office, then we will ensure they are restricted to specific zones and implement hygiene protocols and social distancing.
Nu-Vision Projects continues to closely monitor the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its spread across multiple countries including ours, we are again focused on the safety and health of our workforce, customers and their families.
